On the night of February 15, 2017 the honor ensembles put on another fantastic show. Performances by the wind ensemble, chamber orchestra and chamber choir were stunning and amazing as usual. The chamber orchestra had played charts that had it's own unique feel and vibe to it. Chamber choir had a fantastic range of songs, and a very amusing and comical one as their final song. If you weren't there, you really wished you would've been because that was an act you will never forget. Lastly, the wind ensemble played and amazing set of tunes that were very interesting to listen to. Form the 10 minute piece to the peppy rhythms of their last tune and with the failed entrance before their performance that made everyone laugh was phenomenal. This was one of the best concerts done by all 3 groups.

INITIATE PARTY / BBQ Sep 3, 2016
Saturday was a special day for the 2016-2017 Herricks Tri-M chapter. On this windy but beautiful day, the initiates came to Christopher Morley Park to enjoy a relaxing BBQ with music, games and even more games! The day started out slow, but as more and more people came, the tensions started to go away and the whole Tri-M family was able to bond with one another through food, scavenger hunts and more!
The party was very relaxing and had created an opportunity for initiates to interact with others and with the board. After the BBQ, we played a quick game of Mafia, Indian Chief, and Winking (Silent) Assassin. These games had helped welcome the new initiates into the Herricks Tri-M family. Overall the party was a huge success as we enter the 2016-2017 chapter of Herricks Tri-M!

Herricks Jazz Night was on a beautiful Friday night in the courtyard of Herricks High School. The Middle School Jazz Band, the High School Silver Jazz Band, and the High School Blue Jazz Band, all under the direction of Mr. Taylor, performed, as well as the Jazzery (Jazz Choir) under the direction of Ms. Haas. Each Group performed their jazziest songs that they worked on throughout the year.
The Jazzery and the Blue Jazz Band were able to perform some of the tunes that they played in February at the prestigious Berklee College Jazz Festival in Boston, MA.
The atmosphere was very relaxed, as opposed to your typical school concert. Both Mrs. Arnold and Mr. Taylor brought their families with them. Mr. Taylor even had his dog come along!! Ruff ruff!
The night was a blast, but it was sad to see Mr. Taylor and Ms. Haas say farewell to their senior ensemble members. They will be missed, but are welcome to come and play in the alumni jazz group for next year's jazz night!!
